Peleliu island is located Southwest of Koror and is approximately a 45 minute speedboat ride from Koror harbour. The island its self is approximately 8 miles long and at its widest point, 3 miles wide. It has a population of 600 people and the only town is the size of a small European village. The rest of the island is covered in dense jungle. To say that Peleliu Island would be the get away of get aways would be bit of an understatement, and therein lies its charm. Imagine an island where lush, green rainforest covers the hills and deserted, untouched beaches await you. An island where there is no noise from traffic. No light pollution. An island of pristine coral reefs, submerged in the clearest, warm, blue waters imaginable. This is Peleliu island.
Peleliu also has quite a historic significance. One of the bloodiest battles of World War 2 was fought on the island. When hiking through the jungle, it's quite a common occurrence to stumble across a Tank, the remains of a bunker or artillery emplacement, hidden by the ever encroaching undergrowth. Adding yet another fascinating aspect to the island's charm and mystery.

North Dock
Maml Divers Peleliu is located right by North Dock, the only commercial dock on the island. Infact, Maml Divers is one of the first buildings you will see upon your arrival and is about a 50 yard walk from the dock. Not only does Maml own one of only 3 dive shops on the entire island, we also own the first, and still the only restaurant open to the public on Peleliu. Yellow Wall Restaurant. Connected to the dive shop, Yellow Wall serves some of the best international cuisine on the island. With the dive shop next to the port, the only public restaurant next to the dive shop and Island view hotel only 20 yards away, your diving holiday really couldn't be easier.
Peleliu's diving speaks for its self, but because of the island's central location, it's also a mere 5 minutes boat journey from some of the best dive sites Koror has to offer. This means that we can offer you a live aboard diving schedule, (4 to 5 dives a day), in both Peleliu and Koror, with the luxury of being at a land based location.
Peleliu is wonderfully underdeveloped, and divers come back here time and time again, but please let us advise you. If you're one for the creature comforts, it may not be the ideal holiday location for you. The whole island has a theme of functional but basic. There is no internet and no Ala Carte restaurants. It really is the outback, but hey, there in lies its charm, and perhaps that's why people keep on returning time and time again to Peleliu island.

I'm a pilot.. Would like to see Rock Islands from the air too. Do any light planes run from Koror-Peleliu (that permit enough weight to take luggage)?

We have been to Carp Island few years ago and they have no air-con and hot shower. If Peliliu Hotel has air-con and hot shower, it is OK.

May be we need to stay 1 night before we go from airport to Peliliu as we will arrive in late evening or can we go directly from airport to the island on the first day??
>>yes, u can. but need to charter boat.. bcz our boat leave koror arround AM9:00 to Peleliu and come back PM5:00 to Koror. Charter boat cost is $400 for round trip to Peleliu. but even u use it for oneway in a day, chargable $400. so better to stay one night in koror and next morning go to Peleliu.
On another hotel, you may stay "Peleliu Adventure motel " it is only $30
per night. but not good facility, no hotshower, no aircondition, no private bath and
restroom, just for sleep only, but has kichen in.

I'm sorry to disturb you but I've just realised there is one more option to stay at the island which is Dolphin Bay resort. Is it the same distance from you as Storyboard? Which one would you choose for yourselve?
>>not same, same beach on. but Dolphine Bay is more far than Story Board resort. I dont need aircondition in Peleliu, bcz windy and airfun is enogh for me..
I believe it is a little bit more comfortable as they have the air conditioners. Are these resorts both of the same owner?

But Story Board Resort do not have Airconditon.. but you will feel natural air on beach..
